On October 11, the Physics class had their 1st Annual Pumpkin Plummet. Students created boxes for a pumpkin to be dropped in as well as catchers for unboxed pumpkins. The high school principal, elementary principal and the maintenance director were on the roof of the multipurpose room, acting as the "droppers". This event took place on the playground on a cold and chilly day but that didn't stop Mr. Piper (AKA Galileo) and his students from holding the event. The elementary and some 7-12 students attended the event and cheered on the plummeting! Afterwards, physics students evaluated their masterpieces to determine what worked, what didn't and how to perhaps make a better product to avoid their pumpkin from being broken. All involved and watching had a great time!
